A recently passed Florida Senate amendment has changed how preneed contract proceeds should be deposited into trust, accounting for the scenario that a contract is purchased when a beneficiary’s death is imminent. The amendment takes effect July 1, 2021.

Through this program, owners and operators will benefit from the resources and expertise of both a trustee and deathcare administrator within one agreement. The program will initially be available in Alabama and Arizona, in addition to other states in the future.
