Q2 eNewsletter

         President's Note
At FSI, we pride ourselves on fostering relationships throughout the death care industry and creating new opportunities to serve you in the most effective way possible. The first quarter of 2017 has given our entire team a sense of pride and accomplishment for the innovations we’ve helped develop, and we’re excited to see how they benefit you.

As a licensed funeral director and CEO, I understand that one of the most challenging obstacles for business owners across all industries is coordinating the many moving parts within their operations. A prime example of that obstacle for funeral homes and cemeteries is managing the details of your preneed trusts.

To help you combat this dilemma, we recently formed a collaboration with other industry leaders to combine the strengths of a trustee, recordkeeper, investment manager and attorney. Our clients no longer need to spend time coordinating communication among various professionals who manage their trusts, as this collaboration offers an experienced and cohesive death care team who is committed to producing superior results.

Additionally, we know our business is sometimes difficult to grasp. To help explain the services we offer, we are creating a short video about trust administration and how it can benefit your bottom line.

The second quarter of 2017 also brings a holiday that holds extra significance to our industry: Memorial Day. As death care trust administrators, our ultimate goal is to help you offer a memorable and special celebration of life to your clients—including the ones that paid the ultimate price to protect our country.

We hope you have a productive and successful Spring season. Please remember we are only one phone call away to address your thoughts, and always look forward to helping you achieve your business’ goals.

Sincerely,

Bill Williams
President and CEO

FSI Announces Industry-First Trust Collaboration

As the leading trust administrator and record-keeping company, Funeral Services, Inc. has served as a pioneer in the death care industry by offering new and advanced trust solutions to its clients.

Now, FSI is setting the bar even higher. In February 2017, FSI announced a trust collaboration with Live Oak Bank, Roosevelt Investment Group and Broad & Cassel to offer funeral home and cemetery owners a complete, turnkey trust solution.

This non-exclusive collaboration brings together the strengths of a trustee, recordkeeper, investment manager and attorney. An industry-first, this solution provides business owners like you with convenience, confidence and control over what matters most: growing and sustaining your business.

Bill Williams to Speak at the 2017 ICCFA Convention

Visit FSI at Booth #615!

FSI leadership will be in Nashville, Tenn. this week for the 2017 ICCFA Annual Convention. At the convention, FSI President Bill Williams will speak to thousands of death care professionals on Saturday, April 8.

Joined by Wendy Wiener, Partner at Broad & Cassel, Bill will discuss the Unitrust distribution method, its benefits and how to adopt it in various states. Unitrusts—also known as a total return trust—pay cemeteries a percentage of their trust’s total market value, instead of limiting distributions to income only.

Are you attending this year’s ICCFA Convention? Don’t miss Bill share his expertise and knowledge on Saturday, April 8.

See you in Nashville!

April is..............

National Records & Information Management Month

Winter is over, which means it’s time for spring cleaning. April is National Records & Information Management Month, making it a good opportunity to review your trust’s records and clean out your filing cabinets. FSI works hard to ensure your trust information is safe, secure and organized so you don’t have to keep up with piles of paperwork.

Our trust administration technology enables you to review your preneed contracts in one, easy-to-access location, which includes the ability to check trusts’ balances daily, track all transactions and access monthly statements immediately. In addition, FSI stores all of this data securely in case of future audits. In essence, we become your filing cabinet!

Remaining aware of all your records takes a little extra time, but it’s worth your investment.  In the long run, you’ll avoid any financial setbacks and operate more efficiently.
Employee Spotlight:
Dolores Seitzinger
FSI is made up of a dedicated team of experienced professionals who work each day to provide you with excellent service. Each individual brings an important skillset that assists us in powering your trust. To help you get to know the FSI team better, we shine a spotlight on one employee each quarter.
Meet Dolores Seitzinger,
              FSI’s Office Manager

In her 19 years with FSI, Dolores has seen many positive changes within the company. She’s helped introduce a variety of services that range from fax machines to iPads so clients are provided with the best, most efficient trust solution possible.

From the beginning, she was impressed with the company’s high standards of professionalism. Dolores believes that every client appreciates the personal attention FSI offers.   She loves that there is never  a  recording for the  phone  during
business hours and that a person answers calls immediately. Clients have told her that they really appreciate this distinct touch of FSI’s customer service. She feels very strongly that first impressions count!

Dolores has been in management throughout her career, including medical administration, but when her family moved from Cape Coral in April 1998, she started with Funeral Services, Inc. Dolores loves the diversity of her position, which includes working closely for management, the Board of Directors, stockholders and leading the human resources department. She really enjoys working at FSI and calls it a pleasure to collaborate with such a great group of people.

In Dolores’ free time, she loves traveling and exploring new places with her husband. When not traveling, she loves spending time with her children and her granddaughter.
