David V. Toale, LFD
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Toale, a Licensed Funeral Director, was President of Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Crematory and Pre-Arrangement Center for more than 30 years, prior to retirement in 2007. The family run firm continues to serve Sarasota and Manatee Counties and achieved the 100-year milestone in 2012.
David is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a BA in Business Administration and from Miami-Dade Junior College with an AS in Mortuary Science. He is a member of the Florida Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association. David has been a Board member of FSI since 1982 and has served as FSI's Chairman of the Board for more than 10 years.
William H. "Bill" Williams, LFD
Vice Chair of the Board, President, CEO
Mr. Williams is a Licensed Funeral Director who has worked full time in the Death Care Industry since 1980 and has extensive experience in atneed and preneed operations for funeral homes, cemeteries, and direct disposal operations. He is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science, Atlanta, GA.
Bill is a member of the Florida Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association, the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Bill joined FSI as the company's Vice-President in December 2000 and in May 2002 was appointed President by the company's Board of Directors. He has been a Board member since 2002 and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the FSI Board of Directors.
John A. Williams, LFD
Mr. Williams is President and owner of Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory and is Vice President of Venice Memorial Gardens. John has a B.S. in Accounting and an A.S. in Mortuary Science. He received a Diploma from the ICCFA University for advanced education in the funeral and cemetery fields. John is a Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Public Accountant and Licensed Insurance Agent.
John is Past-President for the Florida Funeral Directors Association and has served on the Board of the Florida Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Florida Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association Foundation. Additional involvement at the state level includes positions on the Florida Board of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services' Finance Committee and Pre-Need License Financial Requirements Committee. Professional memberships include both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. John has been on the FSI Board of Directors since 2011.
James W. Atwood
Mr. Atwood was the CEO and primary consultant at Infinity Managerment Advisors, LLC (IMA) which specialized in trust investment management. Prior to forming IMA he had a 20 year career with SunTrust Bank where he held numerous management roles. Jim was Sr. Vice President and Fiduciary Services Manager for the Nashville Region prior to leading the bank's Cemetery and Funeral Trust Services efforts. Jim served on the Florida Funeral and Cemetery Services Regulatory Board from 1993 to 1997.
Jim is a licensed Attorney with an extensive financial services and supervisory background, including over 17 years in banking and fiduciary services. He received his undergraduate degree from Tennessee Tech University and a Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Trust School and Graduate Trust School Programs. Jim has been on the FSI Board of Directors since 2009.
David P. Farley, LFD
Mr. Farley is a Licensed Funeral Director at Farley Funeral Home has been servicing the Venice - North Port - Englewood areas since 1962. He graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis, Indiana.
David is the President of Venice Memorial Gardens, Board member of Restlawn Memorial Gardens, past President of the Florida Funeral Directors Association, member Florida Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, National Selected Morticians, past President of Venice (Fl.) City Council, served on the Governor's conference for Small Business and as the Funeral Director on the Florida Board of Medical Examiners and the Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Council. David has been a Board member of FSI since 1977.
Andrew "Andy" J. Hafer
Mr. Hafer is CEO of Dynamic Communities and is an information technology expert with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Andy currently leads the Dynamic Communities team which provides administration and facilitation of the Dynamics AX User Group, the Dynamics GP User Group, the Dynamics NAV User Group and the Dynamics CRM User Group. Recognized by Microsoft as the primary, global User Groups for their Dynamics products, these groups foster education, knowledge sharing, networking, and feedback for the communities of user companies.
Andy was instrumental in the initial development of PRISM the industry leading PreNeed software system developed by FSI. Andy has served on the FSI Board of Directors since 2002.
William H. "Buddy" Bevis
Mr. Bevis retired from the State of Florida as the Director of the Division of Licensing, one of the state's largest licensing entities. Buddy's duties were to work with the legislature for funding, rules promulgation, develop educational programs and oversee operations and financial oversight of the division. His father acquired a funeral home in 1952 and family members still own seven funeral homes in Florida.
Buddy began work with FSI in 2008 as the Executive Vice President and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2010.
